James 2:2 -4
For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes, and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,” have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?
How many times do we see someone walk into our fellowship and before we ever meet them have already sized them up???
Either way, good or bad, we have preconceived something about that person.
Well do I have a sure fire way to help us out....and here it is:
Have the perspective of God instead of the perspective of man.
I love the song by Brandon Heath, Give me your eyes, because it describes just that.
It says:
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me you heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
How cool is that????
So here's the 50 million dollar question we all need to ask ourselves:
Do we have THAT perspective when we see people??? I sure hope so.
Glad to be back!!
